The Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday, with The Return of the King picking up a total of 11. These included Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Director and Visual Effects. The awards will be held on Sunday 29 February. Check out full list of nominations.

SAG Award Nominations

BAFTA Nominations Announced

The nominations for the BAFTA Awards, to be held on 15 February, were announced on Monday.
The Return of the King was nominated for: Best Picture, Achievement in Direction, Screenplay (Adapted), Actor in a Supporting Role (Ian McKellen), Achievenment in Film Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Costume Design, Sound, Special Visual Effects and Make-up & Hair.

Pirates of the Caribbean was nominated for Actor in a Leading Role (Johnny Depp), Costume Design, Sound, Special Visual Effects and Make-up & Hair.

Critics Choice Awards

The Return Of The King won 4 awards at this year's 9th Annual Critics Choice Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Composer and Best Acting Ensemble.
Pirates Of The Caribbean won the award for Best Family Film (live action).

People's Choice Awards

The 30th US People's Choice Awards were held on 11 January, with Pirates Of The Caribbean winning Favourite Motion Picture and The Two Towers winning Favourite Dramatic Motion Picture.

Orlando to Star In Elizabethtown?

According to Empire Movies, Orlando has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Ashton Kutcher in Elizabethtown, directed by Cameron Crowe. If he takes the role, Orlando would be staring opposite Kirsten Dunst as a suicidal young man who returns to his home of Elizabethtown after his father dies.

Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer

Orlando is apparently on the list to play the lead role of of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, "an odorless Frenchman driven to murder by an olfactory obsession", in this 18th Century thriller. Directed by Tom Tykwer, the film is currently set to start filming later this year.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" pulled in $51.2 million in ticket sales for a total of $224 million since opening two weeks ago, according to studio estimates released Sunday. The fantasy film also posted the best Christmas Day gross of any current movie, $14.6 million. Read full article.
