74th Annual Academy Awards

The Lord of the Rings took out four Oscars, although none of them were the expected Best Director or Best Film. It did pick up the awards for Best Original Score, Cinematography, Visual Effects, and Makeup. Visit the Official

BAFTA Awards

The winners of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards were held on the 24 February. The Lord of the Rings won "Best Film" and "Achievement in Special Visual Effects", "Makeup and
Hair" and "Orange Film of the Year", which is voted for only by the viewers. Peter Jackson won "Achievement in
Direction". Orlando didn't win any awards, but he was there and presented an award.

The Lord of the Rings has been nominated for 10 Internet Movie Awards - Picture, Song, Soundtrack/Score, Visual Effects, Screenplay, Web Marketing, Supporting Actor(2), Director and Breakthrough Performance. Orlando has been nominated for Best Breakthrough Performance, vote here!

Congrats to Orlando for winning Best Debut in Empire Magazine's 2002 Awards! A first award of many more, I am sure :-) Also congratulations for LotR winning Best Film, Elijah Wood winning Best Actor, and Christopher Lee Lifetime Achievement.
